As some of you may have noticed, I recently hosted a songwriters retreat in Scotland this summer. It lasted a week and we got to experience some incredible things. The retreat took place in Lochgilphead at “The Castleton House” where I brought 10 of my favorite songwriters & friends from Nashville, and a new friend from Dublin, Ireland. The retreat was hosted by me, with partners GoPro, Taylor Guitar, and Guitar Guitar Glasgow — who we were all so thankful to have on board.
This retreat was something I’d always wanted to do, and by that I mean host a songwriters retreat abroad. I thought Scotland was the perfect place to start because it’s certainly known to be a land of storytelling, and that was what we were essentially there to do. The retreat concluded with a performance at King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut Glasgow on June 29th where artists, writers, and fans got to interact and hear stories about their songs straight from the hands who wrote it. We couldn’t have had a better time without our new friends, the MacLeod family, and thank you to all of the songwriters who joined and wrote their hearts out! I hope to see all of you (and some new faces) on the next retreat!
